Features
A well known medium-sized tree that flowers very early in spring and has bright autumn leaf colour that is held well on the branches. Pyrus ussuriensis is suitable for many landscapes, including parks and large gardens.

Foliage
Glossy, dark green rounded leaves turning to varying autumn tones of plum-red, scarlet and gold. Foliage is held on the tree well into late autumn.
Flowers
White flowers to 3 cm across in early spring are pale pink in bud. One of the first ornamental pears to flower in spring.
Is steadily being superseded by new introductions of ornamental pear that are superior in growth habit, structural stability and form. Best in full sun.
Tree Care
A well designed soil mix is essential to ensure your tree thrives. A basic mix in sandy soils would consist of mature compost, clay, manure, soft rock phosphate. the bigger the hole the better. annual inoculation of the tree is important along with a custom blend of microbe food & organic liquid fertiliser regularly to unsure your tree has a very healthy immune system. We recommend composting with Humicarb biannually and immediately followed by mulching with organic lucerne hay as a mulch biannually. this will assist in attract as many worms as possible whilst feeding your tree.

Cwise soils are is 100% CERTIFIED ORGANIC fully composted, high humus, friable, earthy compost and full of beneficial microbes. It improves plant nutrition and fights disease, improves soil health, building soil fertility, providing plant nutrition, and disease suppression.
Each tree will be installed in a hole double the size of the tree’s bag, with a minimum of 30 litres of our recommended soil mix and a specific slow and/or fast release fertiliser (depending on the trees’ requirements) applied at the time of planting.
After installation, the trees will be heavily watered in and if required, trees will be staked to protect them from harsh winds and ensure they maintain their shape until they establish.
