AMF
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) Perth
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) is an organism that comes in two forms – one that can adhere itself to the roots of plants, and the other that can surround plant roots.
The benefits of the presence of either type of this fungi are the increase to the original surface area of the roots, which in turn, increases the nutrient flow to the plant.
The AMF create a maze of hyphae filaments on and around the plant’s roots which effectively increases the original surface area of the roots by up to 1000% (10x)
This increase in surface area has a remarkably productive outcome, and the plant is perfectly positioned to achieve its true genetic potential.
Studies have shown that when AMF is present, plants are able to increase their take up of soil nutrients more effectively which reduces the amount of fertiliser required and the plant become more drought tolerant because it can use the water around the root system more effectively.
Screening Trees WA understand that the root health of plants is critical in its ongoing health and well-being – which is why we introduce AMF to the bags and soil of each and every tree we sell.
